Details of the new 5, 10, 30 years US Dollar SEC-Registered Global Bond

The Ministry of Economy and Finance announces the details of placement of the new 5, 10, 30 years US Dollar SEC-Registered Global Bond.

The details of the placement of the new 5-year US Dollar SEC-Registered Global Bond. The bond, maturing on the 17th October 2024 with accrual date 17th October 2019, has a 2.375% coupon, paid on a semi-annual basis. The settlement date of the transaction is set on the 17th of October.

About 167 investors have taken part to the transaction with a total amount requested of more than USD 6.7 billion. The distribution by investor type has been: Asset Managers 50%, Banks 26%, Hedge Funds 9%, Central Banks and Official Institutions 7%, Pension Funds and Insurance Companies 4%, Others 4%. In terms of geographical residence of investors, the placement has been extremely diversified with the involvement of investors coming from different geographical areas. In particular, the placement has been allotted in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) with 68% (among which Italian investors with 17%), in Americas with 30% of the amount issued and in Asia with 2%.

About 194 investors have taken part to the transaction with a total amount requested of more than USD 6.3 billion. The distribution by investor type has been: Asset Managers 41%, Banks 30%, Hedge Funds 10%, Central Banks and Official Institutions 7%, Pension Funds and Insurance Companies 6%, Others 6%. In terms of geographical residence of investors, the placement has been extremely diversified with the involvement of investors coming from different geographical areas. In particular, the placement has been allotted in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) with 68% (Italian investors have received 32%), in Americas that have received 29% of the amount issued and in Asia with 3%.

The details of the placement of the new 30-year US Dollar SEC-Registered Global Bond. The bond, maturing on the 17th October 2049 with accrual date 17th October 2019, has a 4.00% coupon, paid on a semi-annual basis. The settlement date of the transaction is set on the 17th of October.

About 173 investors have taken part to the transaction with a total amount requested of more than USD 5.2 billion. The distribution by investor type has been: Pension Funds and Insurance Companies 42%, Asset Managers 33%, Banks 11%, Hedge Funds 10%, Central Banks and Official Institutions 2%, Others 2%.
In terms of geographical residence of investors, the placement has been extremely diversified with the involvement of investors coming from different geographical areas. In particular, the placement has been allotted in Asia with 40%, in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) with 36% (Italian investors have received 11%) and for the remaining amount (24%) in Americas.

The bond has been placed through a syndicate, structured with three lead managers, Barclays Bank PLC, HSBC Bank PLC and J.P. Morgan Securities PLC. The rest of Specialists in Italian Government bonds participating as co-lead managers.
