FinTech: a public consultation shall run until 19 March on the Committee's draft regulation and FinTech testing in Italy

Article 36 of Italian Decree Law no. 34/2019 (the so-called “Growth Decree"), as converted, with amendments, into Italian Law no. 58/2019, states, under paragraph 2- bis, that one or more regulations of the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance shall be adopted, after consulting the Banca d’Italia (Bank of Italy), Consob (Italian National Commission for Companies and the Stock Exchange) and Ivass(Italian Institute for the Supervision of Insurance), to govern the conditions and methods to test FinTech activities in Italy. The aim of this is to use new technologies to pursue innovation for products and services in the finance, credit and insurance sectors.

 

This Administration intends to use this public consultation to gather comments and feedback from stakeholders regarding the regulation in question. To this end, questions have been included within the draft regulation in order to guide stakeholders, making it easier for them to take part in the consultation process.

 

Stakeholders must send their comments on the draft regulation in question by 19 March 2020 at the latest.

This consultation is being managed by Office VI - Directorate IV of the Department of the Treasury.
All comments received shall be published at the end of the consultation, unless an express request has been received not to disclose them. The general confidentiality notice regarding e-mail content, included at the bottom of the e-mail, shall not be considered as a request to refrain from disclosing the comments sent.
