The 2nd China-Italy Financial Dialogue: cooperation on global economic challenges and multilateralism

In the unusual context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of the Treasury contributed to organising the second edition of the China-Italy Financial Dialogue, held today, 11 November 2020, via video conference.

The meeting was co-chaired by the Chinese Finance Minister, Liu Kun, and the Italian Minister of Economy and Finance, Roberto Gualtieri, with the support of the International Financial Relations Directorate of the Italian Department of the Treasury.

In order to further intensify China-Italy economic and financial cooperation, both sides held an in-depth discussion in such areas as fighting against COVID-19, macroeconomic policy coordination, global economic governance cooperation, as well as fiscal and financial cooperation, sharing the contents of the Fact Sheet of the Second China-Italy Finance Dialogue

As underlined by Minister Gualtieri, the second edition of this financial dialogue represents an opportunity to cooperate in view of the Italian Presidency of the G20 and to discuss the main issues on the international agenda, following up on the results achieved last year, especially from an economic and financial point of view. The G20 will make it possible to propose shared solutions, aimed not only at speeding up the recovery from the crisis, but also at supporting more inclusive and sustainable growth over the long term, with a work agenda focused on the ‘3 Ps’: People, Planet, Prosperity.
