Directorate VI - Financial Interventions in the Economy

Directorate VI is organised into specific management offices and performs the following functions:

  • financial interventions in the various sectors of the economy, infrastructure and social support, as well as in favour of bodies, companies and public institutions, and economic analysis of the relative impacts;
  • public guarantees;
  • analysis of concessions, agreements and service contracts with state companies, for the areas falling within its responsibility;
  • public support for exports and internationalisation processes;
  • supervision of institutions and non-banking foundations falling within the Department's responsibility;
  • similar supervision of in-house companies falling within the Department's responsibility;
  • settling exchange rate differences for payments in a foreign currency and supervising the management of the Treasury's current accounts held in a foreign currency;
  • minting, policies for the prevention of euro counterfeiting and fraud involving means of payment; supervision of the work carried out by Italy's 'Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato S.p.a.’ (State Printing Works, Stationery Office and Mint);
  • checking and monitoring implementation of Italian Legislative Decree no. 175 of 2016, containing the Consolidated law on state-owned enterprises, for state-owned enterprises;
  • relations with EU institutions and with international bodies in the areas falling within its responsibility.
